Bluegrass Dixieland

I hope this video will play through this format because we have always had Bluegrass, Dixieland and all styles of jazz playing.  There are even times I confess to having smooth jazz on because I swear there is nothing better to calm a household of wee kids.  Now, however; I can share one of the best street performances we have ever seen.  I found it on Youtube because I wanted to show the girls what New Orleans is like both day and night in the French Quarter.  It has inspired Ellie to sing while playing the washboard and to make a gut bucket so she can teach Emma how to play it.  We’re hoping Emma will continue to sing as she does and learn to play the banjo.  James will blow in a jug or play the suitcase, says Elizabeth.  Whatever the turnout, I am so happy that they will be a Bluegrass Dixieland band.  I couldn’t think of a better way for them to share their time together.
