This picture was taken last August (2014). I found a snapping turtle by the mulch pile and I got Matt to scoop it up with a shovel and put it in the wheelbarrow. Matt held it up for a photo because he loves turtles and looks for each unique quality when he discovers one. I have seen Matt pull over on the side of the highway to move turtles off the road to safety. I have smiled when he spots them on rocks completely blended with their natural environment when most casual observers would not have noticed. I also found a turtle under his bed when we first started spending time together. I was amazed that not only was her name, Violet but that she also had free roam of the house and enjoyed quality swims in his bathtub. After this photo was taken Matt carefully put this little guy in the marsh next to the pond where it will find good fortune as it grows old.
