Objects on the Floor

“Why is there a fork here on the floor?” I ask the kids.

Emma quickly tells me, “Oh, I was using it to clean James’ nails. They’re clean now.”

Hammer of the Gods

I kept the Goldfish bag next to me on the table. I did this based on experience and foresight. On cue, James came up from the basement and walked over to the drawer. He opened it and looked for the Goldfish to refill his little plastic mug with a handle.

“I am the God of Thunder,” he boomed

“Yes, you are the loudest one in the house,” I agreed.

“Mom, can I have more Goldfish?” he pushed his cup toward me.

“Yes,” I said, pouring them carefully out of the bag into the mug.

“I like when you have more Goldfish and don’t tell me I already had enough,” he smiled and walked away imitating the strong steps of Thor. “Thanks, Mom!”

Contemporary Hotel

This hotel reminds me of the Tyrell Corporation in Blade Runner. It opened in 1971 and makes for an easy escape from the Magic Kingdom in the middle of the day when kids are hot, hungry and exhausted.

“I can’t believe this hotel still looks good and isn’t broken down. It’s really old,” Ellie admired.
